Once upon a time a machine called “computer” was invented with the huge effort of many people. It helps people to do their work easily. But most of the time people have to tell “what to do” and “how to do” to make use of this dumb machine. So people have to interact with the computers and HCI born at that time.
Human Computer Interaction or HCI is the study of interaction between people and computers.
This includes
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Behavioural Science
- Designing
The interaction occurs at the user interface.
When designing a user interface for people there is a list of things to consider. Human behaviour is one major thing in the list. By examining human behaviour and manipulating them many good products were created. Some of them are our beloved Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad.
